We deliver programmes for learning disabled and neurodivergent artists to develop their own individual journey, as well as to develop as cultural practitioners, leaders and advocates, in order to create change across the arts and society.

That’s a wrap on PRISM 2025!
We’re overflowing with gratitude to everyone who made this exhibition possible - to every visitor who came through the doors, every volunteer who gave their time, Tullie’s brilliant team for being the dream partner, and the University of Cumbria for kindly donating easels for our display.
The past week has been nothing short of incredible. We’re so proud to have seen our studio artists share their creativity and talent in one of the region’s most inspiring venues. This is just the beginning - we’re more determined than ever to keep sharing the work of our amazing studio with the wider community.
✨ Missed it? A selection of artworks is still on display on Tullie’s Garden Boards until September 2025, and we’ll be sharing a photos of the exhibition by Stuart Walker on our website in the coming weeks.

The biscuit spread of dreams... and a fresh new look incoming! 🍪🎨
Tomorrow, we’re thrilled to be part of Carlisle College’s ‘Give a Day to the City’ initiative. A brilliant team of volunteers will be joining us at Central Methodist Hall, giving our creative home a much-needed refresh. Expect brighter walls, improved mini gallery spaces, and an even better place to celebrate the inspiring work from our studio artists.
We’ve got the kettle ready and the biscuit tin fully stocked (although resisting temptation until tomorrow might be a challenge...). A huge thank you in advance to everyone giving their time to support us — we can’t wait to welcome you! 💛

Beautiful new marine themed piece by Stuart Iriving, measuring 100 x 81 cm, was created using a variety of layered techniques ranging from acrylic paint, pastels and paint pens.
Resulting in a large rich artwork Stuart continues with full strength to create art based off imagery from his travels.

Another studio day, another amazing day as artists in residence at @tulliecarlisle 😎🌟 Our artists who create on Thursdays have visited their artwork throughout Tullie and have brought more creativity and colour to the Tullie City Hall Studio.
Not only that, but the Thursday crew were part of an incredible live-streamed tour of the exhibition as part of peer group ‘Explorers Network’ … more on that soon!
There’s still 3 more days to visit and check out the artwork yourself, open during Tullie hours and throughout all of their free to access spaces. 🌀

Throughout this week you are able to watch on the big screen Thomas Joseph Hanley’s charming stop motion animation “Planet of the Shapes” at @tulliecarlisle in the Lecture Hall (accessed via the old Tullie building).
Tom has been working hard throughout the year to create parts 1 and 2 of his original sci-fi story - and the results are fantastic.
An avid world builder, Tom looked to one his key creative inspirations of Oliver Postgate to create work in a traditional style, choosing soft colour pencils and paper cut shapes to create a tactile imaginative animation story.

Tuesday at Tullie. 😎 Our amazing young person studio group had a fantastic day as artists in residence at @tulliecarlisle as part of our exhibition of artwork across the building. 🌞
Our artists took a tour of all the artwork, including the amazing showreel in the lecture hall, and created some group work in the city hall studio.
The exhibition continues to be open across all the free to access spaces at Tullie for the rest of the week and weekend - who knows, you may even see some artists in residence!

It’s open! 🥳💫 PRISM 2025 is now officially open all week to the public across all the free to access spaces at @tulliecarlisle 🌞 We kicked off the week and had our first group of artists in residence in the Tullie studio space, where they also had the immense pleasure of checking out their artwork in situ.

Beautiful clay sculptures by Marina Arnott. 💫 Inspired by architecture featured in one of her favourite video games, Grand Theft Auto, Marina has carefully crafted these pieces in conjunction with each other.
Using skills from her established passion and skills for clay and 3D, Marina first created a range of maquettes and test pieces to ensure the creative vision was met.
Marina will be showing work alongside our other studio artists at Tullie next month (7 - 11th July) where there will be a range of 2D and 3D artwork to enjoy.

Exciting new emerging artist spotlight: Millie. ✨ Part of our young person’s group Millie has been building a fantastic portfolio of artwork. Millie enjoys experimenting with new techniques but has a passion for using oil pastels.
Inspired by both people from art history as well as contemporary culture Millie’s work often features people and typography.
We are excited that Millie will be an exhibiting artist at our exhibition at @tulliecarlisle where you will be able to see artwork by Millie from Monday 7th July and throughout the week. 🎨
